Microsuction: The Gold Standard for Ear Wax Removal

Microsuction is the gold standard for ear wax removal. It’s quick, painless, and safer than other methods of removal. Your wax removal appointment will take around 30 minutes.

After asking a few questions to get a better understanding of the health of your ears, we will examine your ear canals and ear drums using an otoscope (a magnifier with a light). We will record this information to help keep track of any changes in your ear over time.

We’ll then talk you through the procedure, show you the equipment that will be used, and explain how it works. You’ll need to sign a consent form before we remove any wax from your ears.

Once you are happy to go ahead, we will use a magnifier and suction tube to gently remove any wax in your ear.

After we have performed the procedure, we will check the health of your ears and record this information.

If we are unsuccessful in removing any wax, we’ll advise you on your next steps.

Emily brings over 18 years of NHS experience, currently working as a vascular radiographer at Scarborough Hospital. Living in Malton with her daughter Holly, their cocker spaniel Pippa, and cat Bertie, Emily has set up this clinic to meet the needs of North Yorkshire residents. She runs three busy ear clinics every week in Malton and is thrilled to bring her expertise to York with this new local clinic. About Redmayne Lodge

Located within the Redmayne Lodge complimentary therapy centre, Yorkshire Floatation Centre operates two floatation rooms and an infrared sauna.
